How To Donate Books Frequently Asked Questions
When do you accept donations for the Annual Book Sale?
We gladly accept donations at designated times throughout the year. We prefer to
receive donations from November 1st through July due to the high volume of books in
the sale room. However, this year we will not be accepting book donations until January
2012.
What do you accept?
Please consider donating books, audio-books, CDs and DVDs that are in good,
saleable condition. There is also a need for textbooks published within the last 5
years. We can not accept VHS tapes, toys, games, puzzles, records, magazines,
software, or encyclopedias. All proceeds from the Book Sale are used to purchase new
books and materials for the library.
If you have questions about book donating, email us at friends@fgfl.org.
Bring donated items to the Friends' Room in the basement of Gale Free Library (where
our book sales are held). You can borrow a key to the room at the circulation desk or
leave them on the floor right outside of the book sale room door.
We appreciate your book donations and ask that you drop book donations off to the
library during the library's normal business hours. Please do not place book donations
into our book return boxes outside or leave them on the ground outside.

Do you do pick-ups?
On request, we will pick up books in Holden, Worcester, and surrounding towns. We try
to limit this service to people who are unable to transport their own books or to those
with exceptionally large collections. For details email the Friends at friends@fgfl.org.
